What populations do you work with?
I work with transitioning adults, couples, teens (16+) and individuals seeking to better their lives but are having a hard time figuring out how. Please see check out the About Me page for a more indepth explanation of the populations I serve!
As a Black, millenial therapist, I strive to help dissolve the stigmas and stereotypes of mental health care in Black and Brown communities. I also provide loving therapeutic support to individuals who have endured trauma through racially charged interactions and experiences. Using a culturally sensitive structure, I am open to discussing race, sexuality, spirituality, and how it affects our daily lives with clients seeking a safe space to talk about these topics. I am also LGBTQIA+ affirming and continuously works on educating and advocating for all.

Why do you not take insurance?
There are several reasons why I am not in network with any insurance plans.
Insurance companies require a mental health disorder diagnosis, which will stay with your permanent health record.
They also require information about your qualifying symptoms and specific work in counseling.
Not involving insurance companies is the only way to assure your utmost confidentiality.
You and your counselor will have the ability to decide the type and time-frame of treatment that would be the most effective for you, rather than an employee at the insurance company limiting the number of sessions and the type of therapy you receive.
In addition to these important clinical reasons, not filing insurance allows us to keep our self-pay rates as affordable as possible.
Do you have a cancellation policy for your services?
Yes! A cancellation fee of the full amount of the service will be charged to the credit card on file if you fail to attend a scheduled session or give less than 24 hours notice of cancellation. You can cancel all appointments through the given client portal or by sending me an email at email@example.com.
Can I follow you on social media?
Yes! You can absolutely follow my business accounts!
Please be aware that if you are a past or current client, I will not follow or friend you to honor ethical boundaries and privacy.
If you choose to follow me as a client, you risk breaching confidentiality by engaging with the accounts.
Communication via social media accounts does not establish any type of therapeutic client relationship.
Information obtained by these accounts should not be considered a substitute for mental health and medical evaluation by a credentialed and licensed professional.
